Best tools to compare AI chatbots side by side (2026)

Short answer: to send one prompt to several AI chatbots and compare the answers, use a browser extension such as Panelize or ChatHub, a desktop app such as ChatALL, a multi-model platform such as Poe or OpenRouter, or LMArena for blind tests. Which one fits depends on whether you want to use the accounts you already pay for, or one bill for everything.

1. Panelize

Panelize is a free, open-source Chrome and Edge extension. Each panel loads the provider's official website with your normal login, and one input bar sends the same prompt to every panel. It supports ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, Doubao, Zhipu, Z.ai, Yuanbao and Google AI Mode, with up to 12 panels in 22 layouts. It can also turn a comparison into a shareable image.

Best for: people who already use ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro or free accounts and don't want to pay again or manage API keys. Limitations: it depends on each site's layout, so a provider redesign can need an update, and there is no single search across all chats.

2. ChatHub

ChatHub is a Chrome extension with around 200,000 users that shows several chatbots side by side in its own chat interface. According to its store listing, it can use services you are already logged into, your own API keys, or a ChatHub subscription that covers more than 20 models. It keeps a local chat history with full-text search and supports custom OpenAI-compatible bots.

Best for: one consistent interface and searchable history across many models. Limitations: the full model lineup is behind a subscription, and the chat UI is ChatHub's, not each provider's.

3. ChatALL

ChatALL is an open-source desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux that sends one prompt to many bots at once and stores history locally. Its latest release, v1.85.110, is from May 22, 2025, and its README notes that web-connected bots break often and recommends API access.

Best for: a free desktop app if you mostly use API-based models. Limitations: slower updates and several listed bots no longer exist under those names. See Panelize vs ChatALL.

4. Poe

Poe, from Quora, gives access to models from many providers in one app. Its multi-bot chat lets you mention other bots with @ in a conversation to compare their replies. Paid plans use a points system, and different models cost different amounts of points per message.

Best for: one subscription for many models, plus community-made bots. Limitations: it does not use your existing ChatGPT or Claude subscriptions, and heavy multi-model use spends points quickly.

5. OpenRouter Chatroom

OpenRouter's Chatroom lets you pick one or more models, send the same message to each and read the answers side by side. It is billed with credits at each model's per-token price, and some models are free with daily request limits.

Best for: comparing API models, including open-weight and less common ones. Limitations: you pay per use on top of any chatbot subscription, and you get the raw models rather than each provider's app features.

6. LMArena

LMArena (now at arena.ai) runs public model evaluations. Its Battle mode shows two anonymous models and asks you to vote; Side by Side mode lets you choose the two models yourself. It is free to use.

Best for: unbiased blind tests and checking leaderboards. Limitations: two models at a time, and because it is a public evaluation platform, read its terms before pasting anything private.

7. Two browser windows

Open two chatbot sites and snap the windows to each half of the screen. It is free and needs nothing installed, but you paste every prompt twice and it gets unwieldy past two AIs. See how to use ChatGPT and Claude at the same time.
